PASTOR KARUNAKAR

My name is Bejjanki Karunakar, and I come from a middle-class Hindu family. Despite our continued devotion to Hindu rituals and traditions, our family was subjected to black magic and witchcraft, leading to numerous hardships. For many years, we endured illness and financial struggles. Out of my parents’ four children, two daughters tragically lost their lives due to black magic. In their deep sorrow, my parents cried out, “Is there no God in this world who can save us?” Then, God appeared, saved them from their sins, and transformed their lives. From that moment on, they lived in the fear of God and taught me the same through His Word.

As I grew older, I drifted away from God, focusing instead on securing a stable job so I wouldn’t have to depend on anyone. Despite my efforts, I faced repeated failures and became even more distant from Him. My brother-in-law, a devoted Christian and servant of God, persistently encouraged me. He shared his faith, prayed for me, and guided me through my struggles. During this period, I survived three terrible accidents – by the grace of God, I was spared.

Then, one day, God spoke to me through – Judges 6:12: “When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, ‘The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.'” Then, He gave me a heart of repentance and led me away from my old ways. Through His grace, I was able to complete a theology course, deepening my understanding of the Christian faith. God then appointed me as His servant to shepherd His church and continue His work.
